Mortgage and protection broker, Access Financial Services (Access FS), is about to run its next academy to help bring new people into the mortgage industry.

The next academy will start on November 28th and will run completely online in order to make it possible for people throughout the UK to attend. The academy is available for up to fifteen people and it is the tenth one that Access has run this year.

The Access FS online academy series is designed to help bring new mortgage and protection advisers into the industry no matter their experience – while some attendees have previously worked in banks or building societies, many are completely new to the mortgage industry.

The firm has witnessed five years of exponential growth since its beginnings as a one-man band. Today, the firm has over 160 brokers with many of them alumni of the academy.

The year-long academy provides attendees an opportunity to become experts in their field, a self-employed broker, and grow their business to become part of the firm’s collaborative working network. Each one is tailored according to the experience of the attendees.  It will train them to be expert advisers providing in-depth education and training tailored to whether they aim to become a mortgage adviser, mortgage and protection adviser, a pure protection adviser or are already an experienced adviser and just need an induction.

Attendees will look in detail at the products and services offered by different lenders and protection firms. Through comprehensive roleplay, they will then be helped to understand different client needs and how to find the right products for each client. New advisers receive in-depth product knowledge and compliance training as well as sales training, while more experienced brokers will benefit from advanced sales techniques, mentoring, and improved upsell skills. Once they have graduated from the academy they will then be provided with oversight, mentoring and additional support.

Access FS’s academy is designed to train brokers to become quality self-employed advisers and high-income earners.  Following graduation, they should be well equipped to generate their own business and grow a successful brokerage.

In addition, Access FS also welcomes more experienced brokers who now want to become self-employed as a registered individual under Access FS as the principle. This provides them with the skills to run their own businesses while also receiving training and compliance help.

After announcing the November 28th start date, Karl Wilkinson, CEO of Access FS commented, “This academy is part of our mission to grow by bringing more people into the industry.  We want to develop skilled brokers by providing the best training and learning resources available. We take pride in helping people advance their career, become self-employed, and achieve the independence that many seek.

“The Access FS model builds in support for advisers at all stages. We strive to create a collaborative working environment where brokers are not only supported through the training and guidance we provide them with, but they also provide help and co-operation to each other. We think this makes us quite unique in the industry, which much of the feedback from our brokers is a testament to.”
