This year saw 20 schools and colleges offer CISI qualifications to over 300 students, with half of the schools and colleges achieving pass rates of over 80%.
These amazing results have been achieved despite a difficult academic year owing to the Covid19 pandemic.
These institutions include:
• Ardingly College
• Barking and Dagenham College
• Brentwood School
• Eastbourne College
• Epsom College
• Haybridge High School and Sixth Form
• Queen Elizabeth Grammar School
• Reigate Grammar School
• Solihull School
• Victoria College
Three students from Reigate Grammar School, Brentwood School and St Edward’s School in Oxford respectively, achieved full marks in the CISI Level 2 Fundamentals of Financial Services qualification.
Most of these schools and colleges delivered the CISI Level 2 qualification, which provides the foundation knowledge on the different types of firms, products, services and financial instruments that an individual may encounter when working in the profession.
The students studied as part of the education programme sponsored by the CISI Educational Trust. In addition, a group of students who were taught as part of an inaugural programme in Northern Ireland, in partnership with Derry and Strabane Council, sat their exams in June. Of the 18 students who took the exam, 17 passed (94% pass rate), with one student achieving full marks.
The CISI, via its Educational Trust has partnered with schools and colleges offering CISI qualifications since 2007. Educational establishments offer CISI qualifications as an enrichment or enhancement option to sixth-form students, which differentiates them when taking their first step up onto the career ladder, when leaving school or university. The CISI Educational Trust also facilitates education programmes around the UK for students who would not traditionally get the opportunity to learn about financial services.
