Charles Stanley, one of the UK’s leading wealth managers, has opened a new office in Glasgow.

The Glasgow office is based at newly refurbished 58 Waterloo Street, adding to the firm’s existing Edinburgh and Aberdeen teams and increasing its number of offices around the UK to 26.

The Glasgow office will be headed up by Kris Barclay, Branch Manager, who is moving across from Charles Stanley’s Edinburgh office where he has worked for nearly six years. With over 17 years’ experience as an investment manager, he previously worked for Brewin Dolphin.

Barclay works alongside Simon Lewis, Investment Manager, who joined on 3rd June. Lewis has over ten years’ experience as a qualified investment manager and joins from Barclays Wealth where he worked for nearly nine years. He previously worked at Speirs & Jeffrey in Glasgow.

They are supported by Hercules Michail, Investment Manager Assistant. He joined Charles Stanley’s Edinburgh team just over a year ago, before moving to its Glasgow office, and is currently training towards becoming an investment manager.

Peter Kelk, Managing Director of Investment Management Services at Charles Stanley, said: “Glasgow is a key financial services hub in Scotland and the launch of this new office, alongside our new Aberdeen office, sends a strong signal about our commitment to Scotland, where we see significant opportunity.

“Kris, Simon and Hercules all have excellent track records and will ensure they continue our tradition of providing a high-quality service and developing close client and intermediary relationships. We are dedicated to growing our presence in Scotland and look forward to building the team in Glasgow as part of our overall growth plans.”
