One of London’s most iconic City buildings is up for sale.

The Gherkin, known officially as 30 St Mary Axe, is expected to fetch around £650m.

The joint agents for the sale are Savills and Deloitte Real Estate.

Although now a landmark in the City, in April the skyscraper was placed in receivership after one of the owners became insolvent.

Designed by Lord Foster, the Gherkin first opened in 2004 and has around 20 tenants.
