Investec, the specialist bank and asset manager, has dramatically boosted inflows over the last quarter.

In the three months to 30 June, 2014, the Wealth and Investment parts of the business benefited from combined net inflows of £3.6bn, a higher than normal figure. Compare that with net inflows in the full year to 31 March, 2014, of £4bn.

The divisions also returned a strong growth in operating profit, as did the specialist banking business.

The total operating figure was 1% ahead of last year, which was actually 11% up on a currency neutral basis.
