Janus Henderson Investors has appointed Alex Barr to join its UK Multi-Asset and Alternatives team in London.
Barr will report to Paul O’Connor, Head of Multi-Asset Investments and work alongside James de Bunsen and Peter Webster, as co-manager on a number of Multi-Asset Alternatives funds, including the Henderson Alternative Strategies Trust.
He joins from Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he was Global Head of Private Markets and Real Estate Investment Oversight.
With 26 years of experience in financial markets, specialising in alternative assets, Barr previously held the role of Head of Private Equity at Aberdeen Asset Management and lead manager of Aberdeen Private Equity Fund.

He brings a wealth of private markets experience, which will allow us to further build on our performance track record, enhance our quality of service to clients and grow our Multi-Asset capabilities.”

Barr will join in July 2019.
