Jay Wilson has joined AlbionVC, the technology investment arm of Albion Capital, as an investment manager.

AlbionVC told GBI Magazine that Wilson´s appointment further strengthens the firm’s specialist tech investment team as it seeks to capitalise on the opportunities provided by the UK’s leading early stage digital businesses. It added that his newly created role is part of an ongoing expansion of AlbionVC’s technology expertise and follows the appointment of Cat McDonald, Nadine Torbey and Tanel Ozdemir to the team last year.

Wilson joins from Bain & Company, where he has been a consultant since 2016 advising private equity and sovereign wealth funds on acquisitions of European technology, financial and business services companies. Prior to this he graduated from London Business School with an MBA having spent eight years as a broker at ICAP Securities.

Ed Lascelles, Head of Technology at AlbionVC, said: “Jay is a fantastic addition to the team and adds to AlbionVC’s experience of working with rapidly growing tech businesses and their founders.

“The early stage tech sector is thriving and Jay’s appointment will help us to back more of the exciting businesses we see here in the UK.”
