Mattioli Woods has signed a sponsorship deal with rugby team Leicester Tigers, the first of its kind that the firm has struck with a British sports team.

Within the three-year agreement, the wealth and employee benefits management business gets its name on the Tigers’ home and away shirts, a dedicated Mattioli Woods stand at the 26,000 strong Welford Road stadium, corporate hospitality rights and the provision of exclusive content to Tigers fans from the start of the 2016/17 season.

Mattioli Woods CEO Ian Mattioli said: “We are very excited about this new strategic partnership with the Tigers. It is an excellent club and their ambition and family values fit very well with our own.  We look forward to this being a linchpin in opening up new markets for us.”

The firm is already active in a number of charities and events, including the backing of wheelchair racer and budding Paralympian, Sammi Kinghorn.

Leicester Tigers CEO Simon Cohen said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mattioli Woods to our group of partners.  We hope this is the start of a lengthy and successful partnership.”

The Leicester Tigers rugby club has been Champions of England ten times and has also won two European Cups. They currently field eight Rugby World Cup internationals. It was also one the most televised team in the Aviva Premiership over the last two seasons with total TV audience figures of over three million for the 2014/15 season.
