Leading Insurance Provider, MetLife UK today unveiled further enhancements to its Group Risk offering, with exclusive services to help businesses support physical and mental wellbeing of their employees.

Recognising the strain that many UK families are currently facing, MetLife has enhanced its group risk proposition to provide extra support, particularly during times of need, at no extra cost to eligible policyholders.

The announcement of a new partnership with digital-first health company, HealthHero, provides Group Life and Group Income Protection clients with under 1,000 employees access to a digital health service 24/7.

At a time when the NHS is under increasing strain, the HealthHero partnership ensures employees, and their families, can access a GP24 service 24/7/365. The service provides families with access to unlimited consultations, open referrals, flexible prescription collection or local prescription delivery and second medical opinions for additional reassurance.

Aseem Sadana, CEO UK&I, from HealthHero:

“We’re excited to be launching our partnership with MetLife. The partnership helps bring to life our company values of simplifying healthcare and improving lives by providing MetLife policyholders and their families 24/7 remote access to experienced, practising GPs.

“By providing digital symptom assessment and, where appropriate, prescriptions or onward referral, we will help to provide policyholders peace of mind with a flexible service suited to their needs.”

Today’s enhancement follows MetLife’s recent venture with international funeral planning and concierge service firm, Everest, offering Group Life clients access to a unique Funeral Concierge service and extensive impartial support to help in the event of an employee’s death. In addition, employees can access a will writing service along with comprehensive end-of-life planning services. The service also includes the use of a digital vault – to ensure individuals can leave their important documents easily accessible for those bereaved. All of these help families navigate difficult emotional and financial decisions.

Adrian Matthews, Employee Benefits Director, MetLife UK:

At a time when everyone is cutting back and families are feeling the strain, we wanted to help employers offer more to support their employees. Our new partnerships with HealthHero and Everest enables us to offer our most comprehensive employee benefits programme yet, which extends to further support families in times of ill health and bereavement.

“Our Group Life plan helps employers support their workforce and their families with quick same-day access to a GP wherever and whenever they need.

“In addition, while it’s not something people want to talk about, death is a part of life, which most people just aren’t equipped to deal with and don’t talk about. We can help employees get their affairs in order whether that’s writing a will, funeral planning or storing precious memories, passwords, and documents securely in an online vault until they are needed. We also offer additional peace of mind that family members are supported through the difficult emotional and financial decisions they face with funeral concierge, comprehensive price comparison and more. This means 24/7 access to impartial advisers to help with everything from funeral to financial arrangements.”
