- Nearly three quarters (72%) of those surveyed are concerned about environmental issues but less than one in ten (9%) invest in funds that have sustainability criteria built in
- Over half (55%) say they aren’t aware of or don’t understand the terms ‘responsible investment’, ‘sustainable investment’ or ‘ESG investing’.
- While 13% say most of their investments follow a sustainable mandate, half of those asked didn’t know how much exposure they had to these sorts of funds.
Research carried out by Aegon UK among 10,000 people shows a knowledge gap when it comes to awareness and understanding of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles and how they apply to savings and investments.
