One Four Nine Group, the national independent financial advice and fund management firm, has announced a focus on culture and talent to develop the Group’s rising stars and facilitate succession planning among the firms it acquires, with the appointment of Sue Holmes to the position of Human Resources Director.
The Group, which launched in late 2021, has already acquired three high-quality financial advice firms and, with its strong pipeline of additional acquisition opportunities for 2022, staff numbers may grow considerably, prompting the need for a dedicated HR leader.
Holmes will champion the implementation of the firm’s Culture and Talent Strategy, a key policy regarded by the senior leadership team as critical to future growth.
The strategy will include a robust mentoring and training framework to facilitate succession planning via proactive career progression of younger talent within the Group, as well as the establishment of a collaborative internal community where financial planning professionals at varying stages of their careers (and across all Group locations) can share ideas and experiences.
Employees outside of ‘traditional’ adviser career pathways will be given the chance to pursue qualifications, and established advisers will be given access to a broader suite of products and services, along with the necessary guidance required.
As part of the senior leadership team, Holmes’ remit will be to promote a collegiate and progressive culture which will attract new talent, retain existing valued employees, and allow all colleagues to thrive.
Matthew Bugden, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “Our staff are our greatest resource, and as our numbers grow, so too does the need for an effective Culture and Talent plan. As we continue to work on establishing One Four Nine’s brand identity, it was important to appoint an HR Director who understands the values we want to instil across the Group.
“Sue’s background and demonstrable track record make her a natural fit with our principles, as we nurture the next generation of leaders in the financial advice sector. With further acquisitions planned for 2022, Sue will be an integral part of welcoming new advisers and their teams to the firm, fostering an environment where our exceptional staff can flourish.”
Sue Holmes, HR Director, commented: “I am very excited to be joining such an entrepreneurial and energetic firm with a knowledgeable and dedicated team of people across the Group. One Four Nine’s leadership team really grasp the importance of emphasising their values and purpose when building a corporate identity, to attract and retain talent.
“They have an ambitious ‘people-first’ proposition and are unwavering in their desire to support all staff in their own career development, ultimately ensuring the long-term success of the business, its adviser community, and valued clients.”
