Independent financial adviser John Delaney and his wee helper Andy are undertaking 3 marathons in 3 weeks in Chicago, Toronto and New York City to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust.

John’s son Andrew died from cancer shortly before his 16th birthday in 2003. A biopsy on his spinal column left him paralysed, and in need of constant care. There were no specialist care centres in Scotland at that time for teenagers and young adults with cancer, so John and his family looked after Andrew at home for a year until he passed away.

Teenage Cancer Trust now provides that specialist hospital care in Scotland and throughout the UK, and John’s family has been raising funds for the charity since 2003 in memory of Andrew.
