The Openwork Partnership, one of the largest and longest-established financial advice networks in the UK announces changes to its senior management team.

Grant Hotson* will join The Openwork Partnership as Group Chief Financial Officer in February 2023 replacing Richard Houghton who will become CEO in January. Grant joins from Abrdn plc where he was Commercial Finance Director, prior to that he spent over four years at Smith & Williamson as CFO. The appointment concludes the series of senior moves announced earlier this year whereby current CEO Philip Howell will step into the Executive Chair role in the New Year and Richard Houghton will leave his role as CFO to replace Philip as CEO.

Dominic Sheridan, CEO of Omnis Investments is leaving the business to pursue an external opportunity.  He leaves Omnis, the investment management division within Openwork, in a strong and stable position, with an excellent track record and a committed and capable team in place.

Rob Thorpe* will replace Dominic as CEO of Omnis, having most recently led BMO Asset Management’s intermediary business in EMEA as Managing Director.  Prior to that Rob worked at Cazenove Capital Management, and has a strong track record in investment management leadership developed over the last 25 years, in the UK and Overseas.

Philip Howell, Chief Executive Officer of The Openwork Partnership commented: “Today’s announcement completes the Executive team line-up which will drive and develop The Openwork Partnership and ensure it achieves its strategic priorities in 2023 and beyond.

“Following the recent announcement that Richard will become CEO when I step into the Executive Chair role, all efforts were made to find a suitable CFO candidate who could seamlessly transition to support Richard.  Grant had the profile and experience that made him the standout contender.

“We would like to thank Dominic Sheridan for his dedication and contribution to Omnis Investments and wish him well for the future. We are delighted that Rob Thorpe joins Omnis Investments as CEO, the move reinforces the strong team that is now in place.   I look forward to working with Rob who will build on the strength and success of the Omnis Investment proposition – ensuring it continues to meet the needs of our partners and their clients.
