How does the Enterprise Investment Scheme work?

The Enterprise Investment Scheme is designed to help a small-scale company raise money when it is starting to trade. This is done by offering tax reliefs to individual investors who buy new shares in the company.

A company supported by EIS can receive up to £12 million through investments. This will include count towards any limits for later investments, and also include any other state aid received in the 3 years up to and including the date of investment.

To help educate advisers about how EIS works, IFA/GBI Magazine has published the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) Annual Report 2024. Click here to access your complimentary copy
