Clifton Asset Management has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Ashley Wise for the newly created role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Ashley joins Clifton from Saltus, where he was a Partner and CTO for five years, leading the firm’s technology platform strategy. With a career spanning 20 years in the sector, Ashley has extensive experience across financial services, wealth management and private banking, including seven years as CTO for Edmond de Rothschild.
In his new role, Ashley will further enhance the design and delivery of Clifton’s end-to-end technology platform, spanning client and adviser-facing systems, data infrastructure and operational efficiency. A key priority will be the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across the business, from intelligent automation of back-office processes to AI-assisted tools that enhance the advice journey and improve outcomes for clients. Ashley will also ensure the technology strategy supports Clifton’s growth ambitions under the stewardship of CBPE.
Ashley is the latest in a series of senior appointments for Clifton following private equity investment from CBPE in 2025, including Alex Kovach as Chairmain, Jo Swain as Chief Risk Officer and Julie Hansen as CEO for its SIPP business Morgan Lloyd.
Clifton Asset Management is part of the Clifton Group and parent company to Clifton Wealth Partnership and Morgan Lloyd. In its 40 years, the business has accrued £3.55bn assets under management (AUM) and looks after pensions and investments on behalf of over 15,000 clients.
Neil Greenaway, CEO of Clifton Asset Management, said: “Creating a dedicated CTO role reflects the growth we have experienced following our investment from CBPE. Ashley will ensure we continue to have strong technology at our core as our group continues to grow.
“With his experience across wealth, private banking and asset management, Ashley understands how technology can support better outcomes for clients and advisers. He brings invaluable experience to the team and we look forward to working with him.”
Ashley Wise, CTO at Clifton adds: “I am delighted to be joining Clifton at such an exciting time in the firm’s development. Wealth management is at an inflection point where technology and artificial intelligence can genuinely transform the way advisers work and the experience clients receive. There is a real opportunity to build on what is already in place, creating a modern, scalable platform that puts data and intelligent automation at its core, while staying true to the personalised service that sets Clifton apart.
“I am looking forward to working with the team to build something that the whole business can be proud of and that positions Clifton as a technology leader within the wealth management sector.”
