Blackfinch Property has renewed its sponsorship of Herefordshire Cricket for a further three years, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local communities and helping more people access the benefits of sport.
The new agreement will run from 2026 to 2028 and builds on a partnership that began in 2022. Blackfinch Property will continue as front-of-shirt sponsor for the County Age Group Boys and Girls programme, and as sleeve sponsor for the Men’s and Women’s teams.
For Blackfinch Property, the partnership reflects a wider belief in backing people, projects and communities with the potential to thrive. While the business is best known for providing flexible property finance, its support for Herefordshire Cricket shows how Blackfinch aims to create value beyond lending by investing in relationships that make a lasting local impact.
Since the partnership began, Blackfinch Property’s support has helped Herefordshire Cricket invest in coaching, reduce costs for families and deliver outreach work across the county. It has also helped create more opportunities for young people to see cricket as a sport for them, whether they are taking their first steps into the game or progressing through the county pathway.
One of the most encouraging areas of progress has been within women’s and girls’ cricket. Since Blackfinch Property’s initial sponsorship in 2022, Herefordshire Cricket has been able to build a more visible and consistent pathway for girls, giving players more opportunities to train, compete and feel part of the wider county set-up. That growing momentum has also supported the development of women’s cricket at club level, helping more clubs create welcoming routes into the game.
The impact can be seen on the pitch. In 2025, girls’ County Age Group teams played 42 matches, compared with 20 in 2024 and just five in 2023. Female representation has also grown strongly, with 89 female players representing Herefordshire Cricket in 2025, compared with 21 in 2022. These figures reflect a wider shift: more players, more role models and more opportunities for women and girls to enjoy the social, physical and mental wellbeing benefits that cricket can provide.
David Higson, Head of Property at Blackfinch, said: “At Blackfinch Property, we believe strong partnerships can create long-term value. That’s true in the way we work with property professionals, and it’s also true in the way we support the communities around us.
“Herefordshire Cricket has shown what can be achieved when support is focused, consistent and built around a shared purpose. We’re delighted to continue our sponsorship for a further three years and look forward to seeing Herefordshire Cricket build on the progress already made.”
Richard Prime, Herefordshire Cricket Chair, said: “Blackfinch has been a valued partner to Herefordshire Cricket, and this renewed three-year agreement gives us the confidence to keep building. The support has helped us invest in coaching, keep match costs down for families and give more young players the chance to represent their county.”
Richard Cox, Herefordshire Cricket General Manager, added: “One of the biggest successes has been the way the partnership has supported a broader, more inclusive pathway. We’ve seen real progress in the women’s and girls’ game over the past couple of years, with more players coming through, more clubs getting involved, and more families seeing cricket as a sport where everyone can thrive.”
For Blackfinch Property, the renewed sponsorship reflects a belief that strong partnerships can create lasting value beyond business. By supporting Herefordshire Cricket for a further three years, Blackfinch Property is helping the game continue to grow, giving more young people the chance to take part, develop their confidence and feel the benefit of being part of a team. It is a partnership built on shared values, local impact and a commitment to helping communities thrive.
