Afin Bank, the mortgage lender specialising in helping underserved borrowers, has joined Mortgage Advice Bureau’s (MAB) lender panel.

The specialist lender’s full range of residential and buy-to-let mortgages will now be available to MAB’s advisers, providing lending options to borrowers that are unsupported by mainstream providers because their circumstances do not fit rigid tick box affordability criteria.

This includes clients such as self-employed and contract workers, people with more complex incomes, qualified professionals seeking higher loan-to-income borrowing, high-net-worth borrowers, and foreign nationals with a UK work visa.

“It can be tough for borrowers to get a mortgage if their situation is a bit different, perhaps because of their job or income. Good advice is important in these cases, which is why we’re delighted to be working with Mortgage Advice Bureau, who share Afin’s passion in helping more people get the mortgage they deserve.

Afin assesses each borrower’s financial situation and individually underwrites every mortgage, so whether it’s a first-time buyer, a mover, or someone looking to remortgage to a new deal, we look forward to supporting MAB’s advisers as they help their clients get the right mortgage.”

John Smith, Head of Bridging, Afin Bank

“At MAB, we’re committed to helping our customers say yes to more, and Afin joining our lender panel is another way we’re delivering on that promise.

Afin’s proposition gives our advisers greater flexibility to find the right solution for a wider range of borrower circumstances, helping more customers access the mortgage that’s right for them. We’re delighted to welcome Afin to our panel, and look forward to working together to help even more customers find the right mortgage solution.”

Rachel Geddes, Strategic Lender Relationships Director, Mortgage Advice Bureau
