Future Growth Capital, the independent private markets solutions business formed by Standard Life and Schroders, has appointed Gail Izat as a non-executive director to the Board.

Gail brings a wealth of pensions industry expertise to the business.  She is currently Managing Director of Workplace & Retail Intermediary at Standard Life UK, having previously held senior roles including CEO of Standard Life Germany and Austria, and Head of Portfolio Delivery. Her appointment to the board of Future Growth Capital is effective immediately.

Gail succeeds Mike Eakins, who served as a non-executive director at Future Growth Capital.

Denise Le Gal, Chair Future Growth Capital, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gail to the Board of Future Growth Capital. Her extensive expertise across the UK pensions market will be invaluable as we continue to scale the business and deliver innovative private markets solutions for our clients. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Mike for his contribution and commitment during his tenure, and we wish him well for the future.”

Gail Izat said: “Future Growth Capital represents an important evolution in how private markets can support better outcomes for UK pension savers. By providing access to long-term investment opportunities, the business is well-positioned to play a meaningful role in the future of pensions. I look forward to working with the Board and management team to help drive the business forward and support its continued growth.”

FGC aims to deploy £10-20bn over the next decade into private markets, investing globally and in the UK, in support of the Government’s Mansion House objectives, to boost retirement savings for UK pension savers through higher investment returns, and to unlock long-term finance to fuel UK growth.

Standard Life intends to invest 10% of its relevant savings products on behalf of its policyholders via investment products managed by Future Growth Capital, in line with its Mansion House Accord commitment.
