A very difficult year for Mortgage and Property advisers has shown signs of easing in recent weeks with interest rate hikes taking a break and inflation data suggesting a calming of the storm. However, at Mortgage and Property Investment Magazine we are fully aware that a lull in the chaos doesn’t result in a break from the challenges that being a broker, or an adviser presents.
That’s why in this month’s edition of the magazine, we have been focusing on ways that brokers and advisers can add to their repertoire of advice tools to both streamline their practice and better their client outcomes.
To start, Coventry for intermediaries’ Jonathan Stinton, has shared some of his top tips for helping clients to avoid the green home solution scams that are becoming more and more regular.
Meanwhile, Vikki Jeffries of PRIMIS Mortgage Network has highlighted some of the techniques she suggests for building better client relationships, including how to have difficult conversations about mortgages and why they need to be done earlier.
We also look at the latest Moneyfacts UK Mortgage Trends Treasury report data which shows the mortgage market starting to stabilise.
Finally, Smartr365’s Thora Kehoe has given a refreshingly positive outlook on a topic that has received endless negative discourse over the last 12 months. The dangers of AI, the capabilities of AI and the introduction of AI are all topics that have sparked both fear and intrigue amongst the advice profession in recent times. However, instead of leaning into the negative representation of AI, Thora has highlighted why it is here to help advisers and not replace them.

Our new editorial panel
At Mortgage and Property Investment Magazine we are big advocates for the idea that the most
insightful commentary on industry hot topics doesn’t come from regular spokespeople but from brokers
and advisers on the ground dealing with the issues on a day-to-day basis.
That’s why we have contacted a number of industry professionals to form an editorial group that will be
asked for comment on a range of breaking stories in the industry. If you would like to be part of this group
or would like more details, please get in contact with Brandon Russell, by email at Brandon.Russell@IFAMagazine.com or via Linkedin.
