Sarasin & Partners, a global thematic investment manager overseeing £19.2 billion* in assets for charities, private clients, intermediaries, and institutions, has reshaped its asset management leadership team as it positions the business for continued growth.
The structural changes include the promotion of Subitha Subramaniam to head of investment strategy. Subramaniam’s prior position, as head of the asset management team, has been assumed by Sam Jeffries, partner and investment manager with nearly 30 years’ experience in managing multi-asset and equity portfolios for high-net-worth families. He is a director of Sarasin Investment Funds Limited and is a former chair of Sarasin & Partners’ Investment Policy Committee.
The strategic evolution of the asset management team is aimed at ensuring the group is positioned for continued growth and delivering client-focused solutions. Sarasin & Partners’ investment approach focuses on five key megatrends – digitalisation, automation, ageing, evolving consumption and climate change – which are the themes set to play the most significant role in shaping the long-term investment landscape.
In addition to the promotion of Subramaniam and Jeffries, Sarasin & Partners has reinforced its investment team with several strategic hires over the past year. These include Cédric Phounpadith as head of investment risk, and multi-asset portfolio managers Alastair Baker and Michael Jervis. Additionally, Tom Wildgoose was recently appointed as senior global equity portfolio manager.
Guy Matthews, managing partner at Sarasin & Partners, comments: “The structural evolution of our asset management team positions our business for future growth. It also ensures we can continue delivering client-focused solutions that capitalise on the global trends shaping our investment landscape.”
