Vanguard has announced the appointment of Rachel Baxter as Head of Investment Management, Europe. In this role, Rachel will oversee investment management across Vanguard’s European business, spanning portfolio management, investment research, capital markets, and trading, alongside leading the European Bond Index team. Vanguard’s European Investment Management Group are responsible for overseeing c.$615 billion in assets domiciled in the UK and Europe.
Based in London, Rachel succeeds Geoff Parish, who returns to the U.S. as Global Head of Fixed Income Indexing.
Rachel brings deep expertise in portfolio management having previously held the position of co-Head of the U.S. Bond Index team, where she had senior leadership responsibility for a large, multi-disciplinary portfolio overseeing more than $1.4 trillion in assets under management across mutual funds, ETFs, and funds of funds.
Prior to that, she was a portfolio manager with Vanguard’s Global Bond Index team and has held roles spanning global fixed income investment strategy, portfolio construction and European credit research.
