The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) has launched an updated version of its Investment Company Accreditation, enabling financial advisers, wealth managers and other investment professionals to keep their knowledge of the sector fresh.
A total of 395 investment professionals have now completed the Accreditation, which is the only training programme specific to investment companies (investment trusts) covering subjects such as discounts and premiums, gearing and the income features of investment trusts.
The free programme consists of four online courses, each of which takes about 45 minutes to complete. These can be completed one by one, at the user’s convenience, and there is no time limit to complete the courses. Each course comes with its own CPD certificate, and on successful completion of all four courses, the user receives an Accreditation certificate from the AIC to demonstrate their knowledge of the structure and features of investment companies.
“With our training materials freshly updated, it’s a good time to get going on the Investment Company Accreditation – or complete it if you’ve already started. We’ve received excellent feedback on the programme, with nine out of ten respondents saying it gave them more confidence in recommending investment companies.”
Nick Britton, Research Director of the Association of Investment Companies (AIC)
The training courses that make up the Investment Company Accreditation are designed as structured CPD and are accredited by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
