The Personal Finance Society has named Almary Green as the top firm of chartered financial planners in the UK. The Norwich-based IFA firm was presented with the Chartered Financial Planners of the Year 2014 Award at a dinner at the PFS Conference in Birmingham.

Carl Lamb, Almary Green’s Managing Director, received the award from celebrity guest host Alexander Armstrong. The dinner was attended by 600 guests, including the Minister of State for Pensions, Steve Webb MP.

Mr Lamb said: “Chartered Firm designation is seen as the gold standard for firms of financial advisers. It denotes the highest quality financial advice and is only awarded to firms who meet high standards of expertise and professionalism.  To be chosen as the very best of this elite group by the Personal Finance Society – the professional body for the industry – is a huge accolade.

“Every member of the team plays an important role and this award is a testament to their hard work and dedication to high standards I am proud to accept this award on behalf of them all.”

Chief Executive of the Personal Finance Society Keith Richards said:  “We were delighted to announce Almary Green as worthy winners of our Chartered Financial Planners of the Year award for 2014. Throughout the process they clearly demonstrated a highly professional and ethical culture, a commitment to the qualification and development of their people and a strong customer focus.

“Being part of the judging panel again has reinforced to me the quality of our membership through this year’s finalists across all award categories. They are true flag-bearers for professional advice and we should be proud of them and the many others that have embraced change and are changing the perception of the profession we all represent more broadly.”
