Chartered Financial Planner Jamie Lavery has joined national IFA firm Continuum as the firm expands its presence across Derbyshire.

Mr Lavery is based in Derby and will serve clients across the county. He has over 16 years of experience in wealth management, working closely with families, business owners and professionals to deliver holistic financial planning solutions.

He has a particular expertise in working with high net worth families and business owners in areas including inheritance tax mitigation, estate planning, tax planning, and business protection. He has an MA in International Business and Management as well as an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (APFS).

Lavery said:

“Long term planning is important for everyone’s finances. I’ve been working with many of my clients for 10 years or more. I’m looking forward to building many more long term relationships with the support of Continuum.

“When building relationships with clients we start by getting to know each other. This is important to build up trust and to let me properly understand the needs and circumstancesof the people I work with.

“Everyone is different – everyone has their own life goals and ambitions. It is my job to help them find the best route to reach them.

“By focusing on what’s really important we take individuals and businesses through a process of discovery to clearly define planning objectives. It is only by understanding where clients are and where they wish to go that we can provide guidance and advice on the achievement of goals delivered through an evolving long term strategy. This evolutionary approach is vital. The world we live in is changing fast – the financial plans we all make must adapt with it.”

Mr Lavery is the first of several new advisers to join the partnership this year, which now boasts an advice team of 63.

Martin Brown, Managing Partner at Continuum, added:

“Our commitment has always been to offer clients the most suitable solutions and the highest standards of advice. Jamie appreciates the importance of working in close partnership with clients to understand what’s really important, both personally and financially, in order to inform the planning process and forge long lasting working relationships. He shares our approach of putting clients’ needs first, whatever we do.”
