Gary Stirrup has joined Copia Capital Management [Copia] as Director of Sales. He will lead the sales team in growing the discretionary fund manager’s custom and off-the-shelf managed portfolio services for advised clients.

Gary has over 30 years’ experience in financial services, spanning life assurance, platforms, asset management, discretionary sales and advisory.

He was previously Chief Commercial Officer at Ascot Lloyd and before that Head of UK Distribution at Brooks Macdonald, with earlier senior sales roles at Fidelity International and Old Mutual Wealth (now Quilter).

Gary has a proven record of building and leading successful sales teams and delivering profitable results through strong strategic partnerships with IFAs, nationals, networks, platforms, DFMs and asset management firms.

Gary comments, “There is growing demand from advisers for managed portfolio solutions that map clearly to clients’ financial planning goals. Copia has built strong adviser partnerships and a credible investment proposition. I’m excited to lead the sales team in deepening those relationships and reaching more advisers.”

“Gary is one of the most respected distribution leaders in the advised market, with more than three decades of experience building and running high-performing sales teams. His appointment reinforces our ambition to grow Copia’s managed portfolio business, and his time spent across platforms, asset management and advice will be a major asset as we scale.”
