How to build a digital adviser Part 6: video – The Sequel

Testimonial films

Okay so you’ve got the flagship film sitting nicely on your home page, what next?

For the cherry on the cake, you need real life testimonials from clients about how working with you has transformed their lives.

However good your messages are elsewhere, nothing can beat hearing directly from the people whose lives you’ve changed. You’ll all have really moving stories that show the power of what you do. Capture these on film and the deal is done.

Don’t be afraid to be specific at this point. If you’ve got a niche, make sure these testimonials reflect that niche. This will help to authenticate the messages you’re communicating elsewhere.

Suddenly, everything you’re saying you do will start to make perfect sense. You’ll now be convincing people you help those exactly like them. They’ll see that if it’s worked for these people, it’ll work for them too.

The best place for this video is on the client stories section of your site. You can also use it as a lead generation tool. For example, if you have an amazing story about how you helped a tech entrepreneur retire early, why not capture that on video and place that in an ad on Facebook and show it to other tech entrepreneurs?

This is where things can really start to get interesting.

Explainer videos

Explainer videos are short, animated pieces usually 60 to 90 seconds long that help explain a specific idea or concept.

For example, What is A Chartered Financial Planner? Or how will changes to the NHS pension affect me?

If there is something key about your niche or the way you work that you find yourself explaining to new customers over and over again, turn that into an explainer video. It’s obviously what people are interested in.

Use your brand colours to further reinforce your message and place this video either on the landing page for a particular niche or within a blog post that generates a lot of specific traffic.

Unlike last week, this kind of content is not really a do-it-yourself project. You’re going to need help writing a script, not to mention cameraman and editor. If you’d like to chat with me about how you could do this post lockdown, or any of the tactics mentioned in this series, please simply book a call.

That’s a wrap.
