A new managed wealth fund has been launched by MFS Investment Management.
The MFS Meridian Funds – Managed Wealth Fund is a global long/short equity fund. It seeks total returns with less volatility than the broad global equity market by using a tactical asset allocation overlay.
The investment strategy is based on the idea that equities offer the most attractive long-term return potential, but also that prudent consideration of market dynamics may warrant a reduction in net equity exposure
President of MFS International Lina Medeiros said: “We are seeing significant and growing client demand for outcome-oriented funds with strong diversification and risk management characteristics. In today’s investment environment, we believe investors may be looking to diversify their portfolios with flexible equity funds that have the ability to adapt to market conditions at times of volatility.”
Iinvestors will have access to MFS’ blended research process, which combines MFS’ fundamental and quantitative research capabilities to select global stocks for the portfolio.
James Swanson (pictured above), MFS’ chief investment strategist, will serve as the fund’s lead manager. Portfolio manager Jonathan Sage, will be responsible for stock selection.
