Report Writing Masterclass from the Co-Laboratory and CATS

Three experts, two cities and one fantastic event!  The Co-Laboratory and CATS are joining forces. Melissa Kidd and Caroline Stuart are thrilled to be teaming up with Mel Holman of CATS (Compliance and Training Solutions) once again to put on a Report Writing Workshop.

The session, titled ‘Communication Matters – Report Writing Masterclass’ will be held over two dates (Thursday 16th November and Wednesday 13th December) in two cities to increase accessibility.

Since the introduction of Consumer Duty, communication has never been more important. The one-day workshop will focus on ensuring reports and communications are client friendly, clear and compliant – and that they meet Consumer Duty requirements.

Covering compliance aspects, such as what does COBS and the FCA say has to be in a Suitability Report? The session will also answer: What is ‘good practice’ to include in a report and also, what doesn’t need to be there?

It will also look at report-writing techniques; how to write so that the client wants to read it – using language, styles and layout techniques. This will include readability tips, word choice as well as how to make them more visually appealing – using graphics.

Aimed at financial advisers, planners, paraplanners, administrators, compliance and quality assurance professionals – the workshop is relevant for anyone who is involved in writing and/or checking reports.

Caroline Stuart says:

‘Making communications more client friendly, more readable and more inviting is the holy grail for all of us! This session will help to make your reports and client communications not just something they have to read, but something they want to. Those taking part will enhance their knowledge and skills, and feel more confident in their expertise to deliver reports and communications that are clear, concise, compliant and above all client friendly.’

The day will also have group discussions, exercises with plenty of time to apply the new skills. It will be fun, informal and very practical.

Participants will learn from the experience and knowledge of Mel, Caroline and Melissa, as well as share ideas and experiences with their peers, in a friendly and relaxed environment.
