Manchester based financial planning and wealth investment company The Roberts Partnership has been acquired by Brown Shipley. The consideration was not disclosed.

The Roberts Partnership has £450m funds under management and has seven advisers. Once the deal completes in early November, The Roberts Partnership will become a subsidiary of Brown Shipley and will join its Manchester office based in Spinningfields, Hardman Street.

Brown Shipley says that the acquisition is part of their strategy to build and deliver a leading financial advice proposition for its clients. The Roberts Partnership has a national presence with particular expertise in wealth planning.

Chief Executive Officer at Brown Shipley Ian Sackfield said: “I am pleased to announce today’s acquisition of The Roberts Partnership. Following on from our acquisition of Hampton Dean last year and KBL epb’s acquisition of Insinger de Beaufort, it further supports our growth plans, particularly in terms of enhancing our wealth planning proposition to meet the current and future needs of our clients. The two businesses have natural synergies, in particular a shared emphasis on leading with advice for clients, so I am confident the new team will make an important contribution to Brown Shipley and its future success.”

Chairman at The Roberts Partnership Tony Antczak said: “Brown Shipley and The Roberts Partnership are an excellent fit. Both firms have highly skilled people providing their clients with wealth planning and investment services. We are excited to be joining Brown Shipley; it is a business with clear growth plans and a vision for the future. Joining Brown Shipley means we will be able to offer clients an even wider range of services and will enhance career opportunities for employees.”
