OpenAI has closed a $110bn funding round, marking one of the largest private capital raises in the technology sector and underscoring the scale at which artificial intelligence infrastructure is now being financed.

The deal values the company at approximately $730bn and brings together a group of major strategic investors, this includes $30B from SoftBank, $30B from NVIDIA, and $50B from Amazon.

The capital raised is expected to be directed primarily towards expanding AI infrastructure, data centres, advanced semiconductor supply and cloud capacity. Training and deploying large-scale AI models requires significant computational power, and demand for those resources continues to rise as businesses integrate AI into everyday operations.

The fresh capital is intended to expand global reach, deepen infrastructure investment and reinforce the balance sheet, supporting the broader rollout of frontier AI technologies across consumer and enterprise markets.

At around $730bn, OpenAI’s valuation places it among the most highly valued private companies globally. The size of the raise signals sustained investor confidence in the long-term commercial potential of generative AI and enterprise AI platforms.
