#IWD25 | Breaking barriers: IFA Magazine kicks off annual campaign celebrating women in finance

This Saturday, 8th March, is International Women’s Day (IWD). Here at IFA Magazine, we’re thrilled to be running our usual IWD digital campaign to celebrate the huge contributions of women who are helping to shape the future of financial services here in the UK.

Our campaign starts here today and runs right through the weekend, finishing up next Monday, 10th March. Over the next few days, you can find lots of great personal stories, insights and discussions via our special International Women’s Day section. We’ll have special podcasts too – featuring leading lights in our profession, that we think give a really fascinating insight into what it’s really like out there for women in finance today. We hope you think so too!

From ground-breaking leaders to rising stars, we’re shining a spotlight on the talent, resilience, and innovation driving our industry forward.

Why diversity drives success

But this isn’t just talking about women for women. It’s for everyone. Diversity isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a business superpower. Research shows that companies with diverse teams outperform their peers, make better decisions, and foster stronger client relationships. By championing inclusion, we unlock fresh perspectives and create a more dynamic, forward-thinking profession.

Closing the gender investment gap

But it’s not just about the inner workings of the profession where, of course, there’s plenty of work to do. There’s work to be done for consumers and closing the advice gap too. The gender gap in investing persists, with women seemingly less likely to invest and more likely to face long-term financial insecurity. As advisers, you have a vital role in breaking down barriers, empowering people – whatever their gender – to take control of their financial futures, and creating a culture where everyone feels confident navigating their wealth journey.

Empowering the next generation

We also need to inspire the next generation into a rewarding career in financial services. Encouraging young women – and men – to see financial services as an exciting, impactful career choice is key to building a stronger, more representative sector.

#AccelerateAction

Join us as we celebrate achievements, spark conversations, and, most importantly, we hope we can do our bit to drive meaningful change. Let’s take inspiration from this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #AccelerateAction, and work together to create lasting impact. It’s for everyone’s benefit after all.
