The FCA is due to publish the Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) and Investment Labels Consultation Paper in October 2022. The changing regulations will impact ALL funds in some way and will require changes to be made for fund managers and advisers alike. All will have to decide what action to take, and how it will impact on clients and investors via the new disclosure requirements.
Coinciding with this, we have the Consumer Duty. Amongst other things, the CD cross-cuts into Advisers’ suitability obligations and PROD requirements. It means matching appropriate products and services that have been designed to meet consumer needs, characteristics and objectives. And, cue the incoming Sustainable Fund Labels, the FCA Financial Lives Survey tells us that 80% of consumers would like their money to “do some good”.
Firms will be required to evidence how they are acting to deliver good client outcomes. This includes ensuring clients have the knowledge to make informed decisions about their investment preferences (including sustainability). It includes deciding what information to produce, how to communicate with clients, in what format and at what point in the advice process. A myriad of essential action points.
On Monday 17 October at 1pm ESG Accord is excited to bring you a free to access 60-minute webinar looking at the Sustainable Fund Label regulations and how these interact with Consumer Duty and existing regulations. There will be discussions about Tax Efficient Vehicles (EIS, VCT, IHT etc) and how these are impacted.
Join us to discuss this new era for investing. It will help you to understand the decisions you will need to make and what the implications are likely to be. We aim to give you action points to take away.
