Propertymark is pleased to announce its essential free webinar, “Renters’ Rights Act – preparing for change: experiences from Scotland and Wales” tomorrow, 20 January 2026, 14:30–15:30.

This event offers letting and estate agents a timely opportunity to understand how major legislative reforms will affect the private rented sector and how to best support landlords and tenants through the transition.

With significant regulatory changes on the horizon across the UK, this webinar draws on the lessons learned in Scotland and Wales, where reforms such as periodic tenancies and the removal of no-fault evictions have already been implemented, to help agents prepare for similar shifts now coming to England and Wales under the Renters’ Rights Act.

The session brings together expert speakers, including:

  • Timothy Douglas, Head of Policy and Campaigns, Propertymark – leading on national and devolved policy affecting agents.
  • Angela Davey, Head of Lettings, Peter Alan Ltd – with deep experience of lettings practice and working within Welsh rental regulation.
  • Brian Moran, Former Lettings Director, Your Move (Scotland) – offering practical insight from Scottish markets.

Attendees will gain practical guidance on managing tenancy updates, eviction processes, contract rules, and enhanced property standards, plus the chance to have questions answered directly by the panel.

Commenting on the webinar, Timothy Douglas said:

“With big changes coming, the Renters’ Rights Act reflects many of the reforms we’ve seen successfully navigated in Scotland and Wales. This webinar provides a valuable opportunity for agents in England to delve into these issues, learn from expertise and practical approaches, and ensure they can support their clients and adapt their business with confidence. Propertymark has a UK wide membership and network for agents to tap into with the webinar sitting alongside our Toolkit of resources that have been provided to support agents to adapt to the changes under the Act.”

Participation is free, and agents who cannot attend the live session will be sent a recording to review at their convenience. To register and secure a place, visit: Renters’ Rights Act — preparing for change: experiences from Scotland and Wales | Propertymark
