As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, running from 11th to 17th May 2026, Propertymark is rallying the sector to get behind a new fundraising initiative aimed at supporting individuals and families across the property profession.
The team is taking on a sponsored static bike challenge, with an ambitious collective target of 971 miles, the equivalent distance from the most northerly to the most southerly Propertymarkmember. With four bikes positioned across the office, staff will be contributing throughout the week, turning spare minutes into meaningful progress towards the goal.
Every mile pedalled will raise funds for the Propertymark Trust which provides essential support to those facing hardship within the property sector.
At the heart of the campaign is Kate Bargery, an Executive Assistant at Propertymark, whose deeply personal journey highlights the life-changing impact of the Propertymark Trust.
After facing a series of serious cancer diagnosis’, Kate experienced first-hand the emotional and financial strain that can accompany prolonged treatment and time away from work.
With support from the Trust, she was able to access vital assistance during an incredibly challenging period, helping to ease immediate pressures and allowing her to focus on recovery. Her story is a powerful reminder of why the Trust’s work is so essential, providing a safety net for people when they need it most.
Over the years, the Propertymark Trust has supported many property professionals and families across the sector, offering vital assistance during times of hardship and uncertainty.
To ensure it can continue this truly invaluable work, Propertymark is encouraging agents and industry professionals to get involved, show their support, and help raise awareness.
By engaging with the campaign and contributing where possible, the sector can come together to strengthen the Trust’s impact and ensure help remains available for those who need it most.

Nathan Emerson, CEO of Propertymark, said:
“As we come together during Mental Health Awareness Week, this cycling challenge is a great reflection of the support and unity that exists across Propertymark and the wider property sector.
Kate’s experience is a powerful reminder of why the Propertymark Trust is so important, and I want to acknowledge her courage in sharing such a personal journey. By getting behind this initiative and working towards the 971-mile target, we can help ensure that vital support continues to be there for colleagues and their families when they need it most.”
As the challenge gets underway, Propertymark is encouraging agents and industry professionals to follow the journey, engage with updates on social media, and help amplify the message. By sharing progress, raising awareness, and donating where possible, the wider sector can play a crucial role in supporting the campaign and extending its impact.
At a time when many professionals continue to navigate economic pressures, the work of the Trust remains more important than ever. This initiative highlights the collective strength of the industry and its commitment to supporting its own.
The JustGiving page is now live here, offering an opportunity for the sector to contribute directly and support a truly worthwhile cause.
