EFG Private Bank expands UK services by launching an Independent Asset Management platform in London

EFG Private Bank, the UK arm of Swiss private bank EFG International, announces it has launched a dedicated Independent Asset Management (IAM) platform in London, further expanding the services it provides in the UK market.

The UK IAM offering builds on the strength and track record of the Group’s global IAM business, leveraging its knowledge, network and platform capabilities. The new IAM UK Desk will complement EFG’s current services, catering to the needs of entrepreneurial Multi-Family Offices, Independent Advisers and Wealth Managers looking for support in serving their own clients. The team will provide clients with a platform for order management, the ability to book in the UK, a streamlined account opening process and a comprehensive product offering ranging from complex alternatives to wealth planning.

The IAM team will be led by Ian Wright, Head of Independent Asset Managers UK, reporting to Michael Vlahovic, Head of Private Banking UK, and Daniel Ioannis Zürcher, Global Head of IAM. Ian has 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, internationally, the last 12 of which have been within the Independent Asset Management business. Ian is joined by David Holmes, who has 10 years of both operational and relationship experience in the IAM market and Kristina Donnelly, who has worked at EFGIUK for 10 years and brings invaluable client-facing, credit and risk management experience to the team.

Commenting on the launch, Michael Vlahovic, Head of Private Banking for the UK, said: “We are delighted to be launching our IAM Desk, further expanding the services we offer to Independent Asset Managers and their clients and reinforcing EFG’s commitment to growth and investment in the UK. There is a real gap in the market for a premium IAM service, particularly as we continue to see healthy growth in the number of entrepreneurial Multi-family Offices and Wealth Managers looking for Private Banks such as EFG to serve their sophisticated client base.”

Daniel Ioannis Zürcher, Global Head of IAM, said: “We are already strongly positioned in the IAM segment, particularly in Switzerland, Continental Europe, LatAm and Asia. At the same time, we see further growth potential in international IAM markets such as the UK. Our ability to leverage the Group’s strong track record and IAM expertise means that we are well positioned to offer the IAMs and the related clients a strong and differentiated service offering. Launching an IAM offering in London marks an important step in line with our overall strategy. The team is excited about the opportunity ahead.”
