IFA Rachel Lane has won the Insurance Institute of Guildford’s Young Achiever of the Year Award for 2015.

Lane works for Weybridge based Group Rapport and won £250.

Her win was one of a number of yearly awards made by the Chartered Insurance Institute’s local institutes. They publicly recognise and applaud outstanding achievements of young people under 35 in the local insurance and financial services market.

Lane joined Group Rapport in 2014 and her central skill, she says, is to treat each client as an individual and ensure that time is taken to understand their goals.

A graduate of Sheffield University, Lane is a member of the Personal Finance Society and won the award for her qualities for professionalism, contribution and a commendable commitment to her career.

A keen sportswoman, Lane competed in the New York marathon last year and raised over £1000 for The Andrew Grene Foundation, the UN worker who died in the Haiti earthquake in January 2010. Spsonors included Group Rapport and Deepbridge.

“I can’t help feeling very proud to have won this award…” said Lane, “…particularly after meeting some of the other nominees. The opportunity to review my past year made me realise how far I’ve progressed with the support of the company. Attending the ceremony also helped me see how the industry is developing and how many other young professionals are also out there.  In the coming year I’m aiming to continue to grow the businesses and develop new long term client relationships.”

Group Rapport Managing Director Jeremy Martell added: “We are so delighted that Rachel’s dedication and consciousness has been recognised and honoured, she truly deserves this award.  Rachel is a great asset to our company and her relationship with our clients is second to none. We are looking forward to working with Rachel and the rest of our team to maintain Group Rapport’s excellent levels of client commitment and service.”
