What’s that coming over the hill?

September presented the deep breath before the plunge as the whole of the country awaits October 30th for Racheal Reeves to present her budget for the upcoming year.

Whilst the start of this month is likely to be a continuation of the last, Racheal Reeves’ budget will be appearing on the horizon very shortly and for many advisors this presents a step into the unknown.

Amid the uncertainty, this month has provided some highlights for the sector, with mortgage rates continuing to trend downwards and first-time buyer enquiries going in the opposite direction, there is enough to remain optimistic about.

However, as we head into a month filled with change, keep an eye on our website to keep up to date with the latest updates and expert analysis on everything going on in the sector.

In this month’s edition…

In this month’s Mortgage and Property Investment Magazine, there is a discussion on the first sub-4% mortgage rate, a look at how the ‘Bank of Family’ is propping up the first-time buyer market and an examination the Bank of England holding interest rates at 5%.

First up in the magazine, it is a debut outing for our very own editorial panel, a group of mortgage and property professionals who supply thought-leadership and analysis on interesting topics of the moment. This month’s focus was on Santander’s 4% mortgage offering and how it may set a precedent for the market going forward.

Next up, Legal and General alongside the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), present their research into the importance of the “Bank of Family”, especially for first time buyers.

Finally, an array of industry experts share their thoughts on the Bank of England holding interest rates steady at 5% and give their analysis on where they may head next.

First of all, I’d like to give a massive thanks to the large portion of our readership who has already signed up to be part of our editorial panel but as we move into a month sure to be filled with interest for everyone in the sector we would like to offer one more opportunity to take part.
