Mike Mount of JM Finn & Co in Cardiff will be looking on with some pride, and no doubt anxiety, as his 16-year-old daughter takes part in a tandem skydive organised by the Army Parachute Association to raise money for charity.
The jump takes place on Sunday 24 April.
Izzy Mount is shortly travelling to India for a month on a school trip led by their headmistress. Part of their time there will be spent helping to renovate a school in the Manali area of the Himalayan foothills.
Mike told the IFA Magazine: “For some reason Izzy and her friend Georgina have decided to do a tandem skydive with the Army Parachute Association. The skydive is Izzy’s idea to try and raise money for the purchase of the school equipment needed when they go to India – anything raised will go towards improving the school’s infrastructure and safety as well as purchasing PE and science equipment.
“The enormity of the challenge has now hit them and to ensure that they have the courage to exit the plane they want to raise as much money as possible! They are now scouring to raise money and would be grateful for any amount. They are aiming to raise £500.”
