Major home moving group Movera has appointed Karen Buckley as People and Culture Director and Sonia Robertson as Head of Talent in a move to boost its talent team. The appointments follow Movera’s rebranding last autumn which brought together home moving brands from across the sector, including ONP Solicitors and CLG.

Karen brings over 25 years of experience in HR to Movera, having held leadership positions across various industries, including professional & financial services and the automotive sector.

She will play a pivotal role in building a high-performing culture and solidifying the company’s position as an employer of choice.

Sonia brings a wealth of knowledge to the newly created role of Head of Talent, having worked in leading companies including M&S, O2, Virgin, Vodafone and the Co-op. The business is entering a significant period of growth and Sonia has been tasked with taking recruitment to the next level.

Sonia will focus on ensuring that Movera is attracting and recruiting the top talent. Sonia said, “I am working closely with Marketing to deliver an external recruitment marketing campaign to raise awareness of the Movera brand and with our Learning and Development team to ensure we have the right level of training available for those new candidates we are recruiting.

“It is the art of the possible at the moment and everyone is working collaboratively, which is incredibly exciting. We have a great culture here at Movera and that’s something we can use to our advantage.” 

Sonia will ensure that job descriptions, candidate assessment processes and onboarding procedures all function effectively to deliver a positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
