Sunday’s Money pages

The Sunday Telegraph has nothing fresher than Friday morning, when they reported that high house prices have pushed first purchases into middle-age; the average age of a first-time buyer is rising, with some people being forced to wait decades.

The Mail on Sunday urges Hargreaves Lansdown to stop fiddling and fix their best-buy lists, criticising CEO Christopher Hill’s lack of action over reform of his company’s ‘Wealth 50’ list since the Woodford investment scandal exploded on its Bristol doorstep in June last year.

They also remind us that thousands of married couples and civil partners are being urged to claim the so-called ‘marriage allowance’ before the end of the tax year.

Now here’s a thought – “You can play a gig as a band and not know that they hated you; with standup, after every line, you know.” (James Acaster)
