As we enter the season for tax-efficient investment planning, here at GBI Magazine we are showcasing the most innovative and ground-breaking companies backed by SEIS/EIS funding this year. These companies are supported by a variety of leading fund advisers in the UK, including Nova Growth Capital, who have selected some of the most exciting start-ups in the Nova Cofoundery SEIS & EIS Fund.

The third in our series is Bitbaby, a wearable device that helps mothers track their baby’s movements and understand well-being during pregnancy. Founded by a midwife, BitBaby aims to improve pregnancy outcomes with smart tech, providing a mother with real-time knowledge of their baby’s movements.

The BitBaby device is a comfortable fabric band that fits around the belly and expands as pregnancy progresses. Fitted inside the band are small, non-invasive and highly attuned sensors that specifically monitor a baby’s movements, which are recorded in the BitBaby mobile app where mothers can see if their baby is moving in its regular pattern.

The BitBaby device is currently undergoing clinical trials working with the NHS, Tommy’s and Manchester University. To find out more about the SEIS & EIS Companies to Watch, please get in touch with Nova here and they will get in touch with further information and research.
