Leading venture capital investment manager Deepbridge Capital has today announced the appointment of Andrew Aldridge as Chief Operating Officer.
Aldridge, who joined Deepbridge in 2014 initially as Head of Marketing and more recently as Chief Marketing Officer, will now lead the company’s strategic projects and growth strategy. This new role is part of a broader management restructuring at Deepbridge, following the appointments earlier this year of Fuchsia Curry as Commercial Director, Steven Powell as Sales Director, and Phillip Secrette as Operations Director.
Aldridge sits on Deepbridge’s Operational Partnership Board alongside Ian Warwick, founder and Managing Partner, Gareth Groome, CFO, and Dr Savvas Neophytou, CIO.
Prior to joining Deepbridge, Aldridge spent four years with national IFA firm Perspective, and has prior experience within the financial and professional services sectors in senior marketing and distribution roles. He is also a board member of the Enterprise Investment Scheme Association (EISA).
With approximately £300m of assets under management, Deepbridge specialises in tax-efficient investments, offering multi-award-winning products including the Deepbridge Life Sciences EIS, Deepbridge Technology Growth EIS, Deepbridge Estate Planning Service, and Deepbridge Protect. To date, Deepbridge has supported spinouts from 17 different universities, received a £15m co-funding mandate from British Business Investment’s Regional Angels Programme in 2021, and over the past two years, more than 90% of Deepbridge’s investments have been outside of London, supporting innovators across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
Ian Warwick, founder and managing partner at Deepbridge Capital, commented: “I am delighted that Andrew is taking on this new role. We have ambitious plans for the future of Deepbridge, and the recent changes to our management structure are designed to enable the efficient delivery of this strategy. Our absolute focus remains on supporting our outstanding portfolio companies, driving investor returns, and delivering best-in-class customer service to our clients.
“As we expand our portfolio and support innovative ventures, Andrew’s strategic vision and operational acumen will continue to be invaluable assets. With increasing investor confidence and the continuing success of UK innovations, we are optimistic about the future and the considerable opportunities within the UK venture capital sector. We look forward to providing future updates on our progress.”
Andrew Aldridge added: “This is exciting time for Deepbridge, our supporters, and stakeholders, with maturing investment portfolios, several investor exits being finalised, continued work within some of the UK’s most innovative venture ecosystems, new product development, and a clear growth strategy.
“The UK continues to be one of the best places globally to start and scale a business, particularly in the life sciences and tech sectors where we are active, with the Enterprise Investment Scheme (which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year) and Seed EIS being key drivers of success.
“The key to both Deepbridge’s success to date and to allowing us to deliver our ambitious plans is our incredible team, which continues to show resilience, creativity, and customer-centric innovation. I am thrilled to take on this role and excited to contribute to our future achievements.”
