Hilco Real Estate Finance (HREF), the specialist real estate lender has appointed Alexey Shokin as senior business development consultant and has promoted Patrick Davenport-Jenkins to the role of vice president.

Over the last five years, Alexey has arranged well over £200m of loans, and has developed a reputation in the industry for his connections in international family offices and borrowers, both in mainland Europe and the Far East.

Alexey comments: “I am really pleased to join Hilco. I have worked with the team since they entered the market last year and I have been hugely impressed with their ability to deliver lending solutions for their clients in a commercial and expeditious manner.”

Having spent six years working across real estate and financial services, including a graduate position at Morgan Stanley, Patrick joined HREF as an associate in 2023 when the new division was launched. In his new role, Patrick will help serve clients in the North of England and Scotland.

Patrick comments: “When I joined HREF last year, I saw that it was a fantastic opportunity to help develop what I believe will become one of the leading real estate lending businesses in the UK. I’m excited to be stepping up by originating my own loans and taking on more responsibility in underwriting and executing transactions.”

Brad Altberger, CEO and co-founder of HREF, comments: “We are seeing increasing demand for our services as the traditional banking sector is failing to meet the lending requirements of a significant segment of the market. We are a client focused organisation, and the addition of Alexey and promotion of Patrick strengthens our ability to meet the demands of our clients.”

Hilco Real Estate Finance provides bespoke, flexible property finance solutions nationwide across various real estate sectors and capital structures, offering short term loans for growth, acquisition opportunities, development exits and refinancing exits with loan sizes ranging from £1m to £50m+.  HREF is a rapidly growing business with an increasingly large pipeline of transactions planned for completion in Q2 2024.

Headquartered in London and with offices throughout the UK, HREF comprises a team of highly experienced finance professionals. It is a fully integrated subsidiary of Hilco Global (Hilco), the multi-national financial services group with more than $3bn of assets under management. HREF builds on Hilco’s long established credentials as a lender, valuer and asset manager.
