McKay becomes non-executive director at ISG Technology

Jonathan McKay has become a non-executive director of ISG Technology, a company within the WestBridge Capital portfolio.

Formed in 2008, WestBridge mostly invests in profitable, fast growing UK SMEs with enterprise values of £10m to £20m. WestBridge supported CEO Mike Morrison (pictured above left) in a secondary buyout last year with a £4m investment.

McKay, who has a strong background in in the technology sector, is currently Chairman at JustGiving, the UK’s largest online fundraising platform; La Fosse Associates; Driftrock; Cambridge Broadband; and, Forward Partners. He is also an advisory board member of Ventech China.

ISG designs, installs and manages mission critical networking infrastructure and Wi-Fi connectivity for mid to large size enterprises. It supports both public and private enterprise, including the retail, quick service restaurant and major global ICT and telecommunications sectors.

Morrison said: “Over the last four years we have experienced compound double-digit growth in revenue and EBITDA and this has continued and accelerated since the investment from WestBridge. We remain committed to further value enhancing growth and we wanted to appoint a chairman that could make a significant contribution to this objective.

“Jonathan has exactly the right background and approach to do this. It has already become clear that his fresh perspective will help us to refine our business strategy, customer propositions and go to market model for existing and new markets, and for the benefit of all ISG stakeholders. I and my colleagues are very much looking forward to working with Jonathan in the years to come.”

WestBridge partner Valerie Kendall (pictured above right), who sits on the ISG board, said: “ISG is already strong in its sector, benefitting from a robust business model, a loyal customer base and healthy recurring revenues.  We’re now keen to pursue further growth, predominantly through refining our service offering, and Jonathan’s sales and marketing expertise made him the natural choice for the role of chair.”

Sandy Smart, fellow WestBridge partner, added: “Jonathan has significant experience working with private equity backed companies so understands the drivers and dynamics involved.  We’re delighted that he has chosen to invest in ISG, and are looking forward to working with him to deliver returns for all stakeholders.”
