Segro collects 98pc of rents for 2020

(Sharecast News) – Segro said on Friday that for the year ended 31 December, it had collected 98% of all rents to date.
The FTSE 100 commercial landlord billed total rent of £417m in 2020, and said that of the rent that remained unpaid, 1% was under deferral, including payment plans, while 1% remained outstanding.

Looking at UK rents payable in advance for the first quarter of 2021, as at 14 January it had received 88% of the £63m of rent due.

“This represents a higher collection level than at the equivalent time in each of the three previous quarters,” the board said in its statement.

“We expect the substantial balance of outstanding rents to be paid by the end of the quarter with the majority now due to be paid monthly.”

Segro said that 8% of first quarter rent was under deferral, and 4% remained outstanding.

At 0803 GMT, shares in Segro were up 0.12% at 967.4p.
