A high-ranking treasury minister is to speak at the APFA 2016 Annual Dinner.

Simon Kirby MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, will be the keynote speaker at the dinner which takes place on Tuesday 22 November at the Plaisterers’ Hall, One London Wall.

The dinner attracts senior figures from the advice community, politicians and regulators.

As Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Simon Kirby MP has a ministerial portfolio which includes responsibility for retail financial service issues such as consumer finance, financial advice and capability.

Director General at APFA Chris Hannant said: “I am absolutely delighted that Simon will be speaking at our Dinner, on the evening before the Chancellor gives his Autumn Statement to Parliament and outlines the new government’s taxation and spending plans.

“At a time when it is more important than ever that people can access professional financial help when planning for their financial future,  I particularly welcome the opportunity to hear the minister speak about how government, regulators and the advice community can work together to make this happen.”
