Brooks Macdonald launches global MPS – broader horizons, broader choice

Neil Cowell, Distribution Director, at Brooks Macdonald, explains why they have launched Global MPS – a solution that’s designed to give you, as advisers, a broader choice when it comes to offering your clients a globally oriented investment portfolio.

Investors are thinking bigger. Today, many of your clients will be looking beyond the UK for opportunities to spread risk, access global markets, and build more diversified portfolios. As an adviser, finding the right solution to meet these needs – without adding unnecessary complexity to your workload – is key.

A structured approach to global investing

Launched on 31 March, Global MPS is part of our Managed Portfolio Service (MPS) range.

It’s made up of ten portfolios, split between active and passive strategies, covering five risk profiles from low risk to high risk – so you have a wide choice of solutions to suit a broad range of clients.

But Global MPS also offers something a little different. Unlike our Core range, which is structured solely around Brooks Macdonald’s house asset allocation view, Global MPS aligns equity exposure with the MSCI All Companies World Index (ACWI). This means portfolios stay in step with global market trends, capturing worldwide opportunities while balancing passive efficiency with active asset allocation insights.

However, while equity allocations dynamically adjust in line with the MSCI ACWI, non-equity exposures – such as fixed income, cash, and alternatives – remain consistent with our Core MPS range. These allocations are guided by Brooks Macdonald’s Centralised Investment Proposition (CIP), ensuring a strategic, research-driven approach to asset allocation and risk management. Our CIP underpins not just MPS, but all of our investment propositions and strategies.

By reducing home-market bias, Global MPS provides greater exposure to worldwide opportunities while maintaining the structure and stability of a risk-managed approach. With both active and passive portfolios available, advisers also have the flexibility to tailor solutions based on client preferences while being confident that the portfolio benefits from both the expert oversight and investment discipline that define Brooks Macdonald’s approach.

A wider choice of solutions for advisers

Advisers have told us they want investment solutions that evolve with their clients’ needs, providing more choice without adding complexity. Global MPS has been developed in direct response to this demand, offering an efficient way to access international markets while maintaining a structured investment approach.

We also recognise that accessibility and cost are important considerations for advisers. That’s why Global MPS is launching at a highly competitive price point, with fees of 15bps for active portfolios and 10bps for passive portfolios. It’s also why we’re making Global MPS available through a wide range of third-party wrap platforms, allowing advisers to access this solution in a way that best suits their working model.

Why choose our global MPS?

In summary, Global MPS provides four key benefits to your clients:

  1. A globally oriented solution with exposure across multiple asset classes, geographies, and sectors.
  2. A solution guided by Brooks Macdonald’s CIP, providing structured asset allocation, rigorous research, and active oversight.
  3. A thorough process and rigorous oversight leading to consistent and dependable outcomes which can be demonstrated to both your clients and the regulator.
  4. Availability of portfolios across five risk profiles, each independently assessed by external risk profiling firms, providing you with additional risk-mapping clarity.

Global MPS is available from 31 March.
