Quilter Investors hires new investment strategist

Quilter Investors, the multi-asset investment provider, has hired Lindsay James into the newly created role of investment strategist.

Reporting into chief investment officer, Marcus Brookes, this new position will see James externally represent Quilter Investors’ investment strategy and views on financial markets and economic environment. She will be interacting with clients and advisers, while also acting as a media spokesperson for the business on investment matters.

She will work closely with Quilter Investors’ portfolio managers and ‘Global Partners’, leading investment houses that Quilter works alongside, to enhance the research capability of the business and create insightful investment output. James will also become Chair of the tactical asset allocation meetings at Quilter.

James has almost 20 years’ experience in financial services having initially started out as an assistant fund manager at F&C Asset Management, before becoming an equity research analyst for a European long-short hedge fund. Most recently James has been an investment director at Quilter Investors, where she has worked closely with financial advisers to help them meet client needs by using the range of the portfolios offered by the business.

Marcus Brookes, chief investment officer at Quilter Investors, said: “It is vital that we give advisers and their clients what they need in order to meet their objectives. Much of this comes in what and how we communicate to them, and I am delighted to have someone like Lindsay take a new role that will allow us to do that in an even more dynamic and innovative way.

“Along with our portfolio managers, Lindsay helps to strengthen the range of experts we have available to represent the business and speak with clients, advisers and the media. Lindsay knows Quilter inside out and has great experience and knowledge of markets. I look forward to seeing her out there turning complicated subjects into easily digestible content.”

Lindsay James, Investment Strategist at Quilter Investors, added: “One of the best things about working in financial markets is that they are a melting pot of ever-changing information, fed not only by news flow from central banks and the economy, but also driven by longer term societal trends, technological breakthroughs and geopolitics.  Distilling this information down and using our high-quality research and insight to present it in a variety of ways is something I am really looking forward to.”
