atomos announces the appointment of Joshua Gennet as Head of Investments. Gennet, who has held roles in derivative trading, portfolio management, risk analytics, sales, marketing and business management at Morgan Stanley, BNP Paribas, and MSCI over a 25 year career, brings extensive and diverse investment industry experience to atomos.
Most recently, Gennet co-founded Ethical Capital Opportunity (“ECO”) Advisors, a boutique UK investment management firm. Prior to which, he was Head of MSCI’s Portfolio Management Analytics business in EMEA and a regional manager for the firm’s Analytics product line.
In addition, Rowan Stone, who in her five years at atomos has worked across both the Portfolio Management and Investment Teams is to be promoted to Investment Director to support Gennet. As Sustainable Portfolio Manager, Stone has played a key role in shaping the firm’s responsible investment strategy and contributing to the development and oversight of atomos’s broader investment strategy. Her promotion highlights atomos’s commitment to developing talent and maintaining a strong focus on innovation and responsibility in investment management.
Haig Bathgate, current Head of Investments, will be phasing out his involvement with the business following the successful conclusion of the latest phase of the five-year strategic growth plan.
Bathgate, who has for the past three years led atomos’s investment function and who was instrumental in implementing the award-winning investment process with WTW, will conclude his current programme of work with atomos by the end of the year. He will continue his association with atomos as chair of the atomos Investment Oversight Committee.
Jonathan Polin, commenting on Gennet’s appointment, said: “Josh joins us at an exciting time as we forge ahead with our plans through our deepened strategic alliance with WTW. We are delighted to welcome Josh to the business and I very much look forward to working closely with him. At the same time, it is great to see home-grown atomos talent recognised and Rowan’s promotion to Investment Director is richly deserved.”
Polin, commenting on Bathgate, added: “Haig has been an invaluable member of the Executive Committee over the past three years and he has done a fantastic job restructuring the investment team and its processes. His work initiating and implementing our strategic alliance with WTW has proved highly successful. I thank Haig for all his work and wish him the best at Callanish Capital as his work with atomos comes to a natural conclusion.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Haig for the foreseeable future as he transitions away and we feel very fortunate to have him continuing to lend his expertise, overseeing and chairing our Investment Committee.”
Haig Bathgate said of the change: “I have greatly enjoyed working with JP and the team at atomos and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished. I’d also like to thank Oaktree for their support and WTW, who have had the confidence to take a stake in our business and with whom we work ever more closely.
“I very much look forward to continuing to work with the team in the oversight role and leave atomos investment team in very capable hands with Josh and Rowan, who I will continue to be in close contact with.”
